Large breweries have computerized facilities that can produce in the blink of the eye – in some means they are flawless industrial products. On the other hand, craft breweries from old are characterized by hand-made methods, and once the license loosened, a rush to establish new breweries led to problems due to the lack of facilities and experience, even some with unspeakable trouble sanitation-wise. Wada’s dream was to bring forth to the world a premium beer full of artisanal craftsmanship from clean state-of-the-art facilities that rival the large breweries. Eventually, after only two years after the foundation, a perfect score was given on the food sanitation monitor sheet from the Saku City sanitation department; a perfect score was the first for a craft brewery. In 2014, the “Shinshu Brand Award – individual brands division”, a prize given to superior brands of Nagano prefecture, was awarded. Candidates must be nominated for this award, so to be named the “Prized Item of Shinshu” as a craft beer was extremely moving for Wada.
